spying

It is boring and useless....

it is just to random .... there are nothing that tells me what the fail change is.... there is no way to make your spys better ... is some way to help improve the change for success.... there is no point in using this system..... back to the drawing board....

Although I do agree that some more depth and bugfixes are needed, to say there is no way of increasing chance of success is not correct. There are at least two ways of shortening the mission times, which directly increases the chance of success. As I'm fairly certain that the chance of failure is rolled for each individual turn.

I agree. The system feel not thought true. The moving around spies feels awkward and you get to many of them. Also since you always have to do an initial quest after you moved them why don´t the spies always start that quest by them self. It is a complete time waste to have to click and select the only available quest. But I like that you need to do multiple spy quests and build up a spy network on the planets before you can do the heavier stuff. But we need more.  We need to know the different missions difficulty and successes rates. The decision to send the spies to do dangerous missions with great rewards or have them just lingering collecting easy intel is more fun. I was surprised how good the Beyond earth expansion Rising tide improved the spy system in that game. The development team should take a look at that game.

Also it would be cool if the agents would level up over time or by completing quests. Perhaps should there be 3-5 different kinds of skills for them to level up depending on what missions they complete. Such skills could be diplomatic skill ,assassination skillsubterfuge skill and hacking skills and depending on the skill level of the agent you would have increased chance for success and survival of a certain missions. I like the agents images but the agents need to be more fleshed out. Right now we get to many of them and they just feel cumbersome and not individual at all. When you have like 8 of them out doing missions for 6-8 turns it gets kind of time consuming.

Beyond earths move to add a diplomatic and spy currency is also genius. This way you can´t do everything and instead have to chose how to spend the currencies. What missions you wan´t to do and what aliens you want to influence by threats, sweat talk or propaganda. That kind of stuff is missing from the diplomatic system. I would love to have the races throw different animated insults at me that would be special depending on what race I play.
