What do you absolutely want in the new Mas...

o8livion's Photo o8livion 27 Feb 2016

i am really sorry for pointing out moo2 so often, but it's the reason i bought moo cts, so pls don't get insulted when my point of view is the one of someone wanting just the old game with new graphics and compatibility to new os. i honestly think there are more than just me.

-controls:

despite of the old game being good, it was very static in its views. so i like the free camera, but i wish to be able to bind WASD and scaling the zoom for mousewheel, and, if camera-rotation might be an option, QE for it.

-colony view.

it would be awesome to set the buildings location on the planet, or let's say, have them compactly shown like in moo2. that's a rather cosmetic issue and so i can live without it, but it's one of the points why moo2 has still the best flair. some scattered buildings and the rest of the planet empty gives an uncomplete feeling, imo.

-tactical combat.

i like the idea of auto-combat for time-saving, but i play the game mostly because i like it's depth, and so i like investing time. so, with customized ships and tactical combat, as i've read here before, it is possible to defeat larger and more advanced fleets. and that was AWESOME.

-customizable races.

to be able to give research/production/food/money/populationgrowth-boni/mali per population assigned, but to also have traits like creative/uncrative... i loved the possible combinations and playstyles.

ps: maybe some of my points are already announced or even implemented and i have not seen them so far, so please comment if you do not agree =)

pps: i do definately not want to have to chose between 2 options when i finished researches.

On the subject of research, I like what's going on in the early access. I always thought that you should be able to get more technologies from the same "tier" and tree by paying the research point cost again. The alternative just seems nonsensical to me. Please keep that as is.

Also, I don't know if I missed this but, I can't seem to find an itemized list of existing installations in the colony view. The "Manage Structures" button doesn't really provide a good overview.

Thank you for your time.

Please make it an option on the planet screen to show a list of buildings on a planet. Icons circling around the planet is not very good when you want to quickly plan for next upgrade and move on to the next planet.

+1. Or at least make the graphics/animations better, they now look out of place and it's like they're floating/gliding above the surface.

I would like to see implemented a custom galaxy (and galaxies) creation feature, with user defined number of systems per galaxy and user defined number of galaxies in the universe (as per Star Ruler 2).

I would like it if there was more depth in diplomacy , trade and colonisation.

It seems to me that the outcome as the game is, is mostly about getting your production capacity up as fast as you can and attack.

The race differences could have been bigger, differences in technology etc.

Why? They add strategic value to the game, so I think it's a good addition.

It would be nice if you could add the Antarens from MoO2.
Please take the Limitation from the Battlestar-Class. Only 1 Battlestar kills the Feeling of MoO.

Unit Xp would be very nice, so the Upgrading of an Unit would become more Interesting!

And please give us a Choice of Tactical or Turn based Fights.

The last Thing: Captains for a Fleet with Perks and Buffs could bring more Tactics to the Fights.

I think Antarians will be in, the GNN mentions them quite often. :)

They add strategic limitation to the game IMO :p

Nothing more strategic than not knowing where your opponent will strike from and having to think more dynamically about your defenses and diplomacy with your neighbors.

Starlanes pretty much makes this game very linear.

If I were to force starlanes I'd incorporate tech kind of like in Eve Online where you need to construct these starlanes/warp gates first to get to nearby systems.  That would at least make the star lanes, as well as the placement of starlane defenses like the military outpost, sensible.  And quite possibly the destruction of a warp gate (Like a bridge) an additional strategic consideration.  Hell, even ownership of those gates could be something (open borders, payment to use etc...) - but this might be going too far :D

This game is not going to be a MOO2 remake, the devs/WG already stated this.

I think those would be great additions on top of the current implementation.

So, actually finished a game last night and now I have a few more suggestions.

First, a minor one, by endgame I wiped out the second biggest empire. I'd already paid off the third biggest to vote for me on the next council meeting. The meeting rolls around and the third biggest empire votes for me instead of itself. I found this somewhat strange but maybe it's intentional.

Second, a slightly bigger one, by the time I'd assumed control of roughly half of a medium galaxy and gotten to turn ~400 I'd already maxed out my tech tree. Mind you, I was playing Mrrshan, so I couldn't even blame it on being Psilon. So I'd like an advanced setting option to slow down tech progression globally, or possibly just make later technologies more expensive to get RP wise.

Third, are Doom Stars intentionally limited to one per race? If so, cool, that'll make them seem more significant. By MoO2 endgame Doom Stars really didn't feel like anything special. Though you might want to raise the build cost of they're that big a deal; I cranked mine out in less then ten turns using Interplanetary Administration.

Lastly, a potential minor bug, I'm pretty certain that my adviser sometimes alerted me to planetary pollution levels close to zero. And/Or, are better biomes simply more sensitive to pollution?

Again, thank you for your time.

Yeah i agree with you on these things.

The purchasing of the Votes should NOT guarantee the Votes. It should be based on the Diplomatic Standing with that Race. As higher the standing as higher the chance for them voting for you.

Yeah the Tech Tree is kind of easy atm. I maxed out (except) for one Tech on Turn 390. The Tech Tree needs a revamp. It should be streched a bit and make later techs more expensive.

And yes Doom Stars are intentionally only one per Race and thats a good thing. :)

I just want Master of Orion 1 REMASTERED. Is it that hard. Will my dreams come true ? Conquer the stars is not remake of MOO1 it is like MOO4 , even today I am playing MOO1 and having fun but with your game even i tried to like it I could not.

Game design and Tactical battle is all about MOO1.

Tactical battle must be turn based.

MOO1 is smilar to RISK games  strategy is at its cores.

please release MOO1 with modern graphics and with a better AI than you can make a MOO4.

hope somebody hear me...

best strategy game I have played in my life MOO1 the programmers of it should be genius.
