First up, sorry mods if this is in the wrong place, I had a look around and couldn't see anywhere else to post it.

Secondly, I have a workaround for the bug that may be useful if anyone else comes across this.

Anyway, here it is:

I started up the game and tried to load a previous save. However, the single player menu  did not appear, there was just the planet in the background rotating prettily but no menu or text on screen.

After some head scratching and investigating, I found that if I deleted or moved my Save Games from <Data>\Master of Orion\Saves the menu appeared again, obviously without any save gtames to access. While the game was still running, I copied the two files representing a particular save game back into the 'Saves' folder and not only did the menu appear properly, but I was able to load the game without difficulty.
