On my laptop I have both an Intel HD 4600 and an nVidia GTX960m GPU. Since this game is new/early access, it's not listed in the nVidia driver yet. This will result in the game defaulting to the integrated GPU (Intel HD). Needless to say, perfomance is then sub-optimal (ok, I mean BAD :P).

Until nVidia updates the driver with the game, you'll have to manually force it to use the nVidia GPU instead of the integrated one. Go into the nVidia control panel, 3d settings, then add the MOO executable, and select 'use nvidia gpu' and hit 'apply'. May have to repeat this after a driver update.
