Multiplayer Option?

would the game have a multiplayer option as well?

This is the one I would like to know. If the original game had a way to get better was with the multi-player option. This version was fan-made,required a hell of patches and using some softwares to connect computers (as a 1997 game has little to do with Internet) but still made incredibly fun games.
So what about the new version?
